The Malicks are a four-piece alternative punk rock band founded in Berlin, Germany in 2020 by Erik, Alex, and Pyro. The current lineup also includes Tobi, who joined the band in 2024.
Their energetic mix of punk rock and alternative electrifies the stage and leaves audiences euphoric. With powerful guitar riffs, catchy melodies, and honest lyrics that address social and societal issues, The Malicks combine their musical passion with a critical attitude towards the world around them. Their motto is: “We make bad music that brings good vibes.”
The band started as a jam project and quickly evolved into a solid formation when Pyro joined in early 2020, bringing structure to the project. The definition of their primary music genre as punk rock came through collaboration and the development of their first song, “Wannabe,” which was completed in March 2020. In November 2020, they moved into their first dedicated rehearsal space/studio, marking the beginning of their song production.
In 2021, The Malicks digitally released their first four songs – “Wannabe,” “Jane Doe,” “Empty Lines,” and “Cohesion” – quickly gaining the attention of a growing online fan base. That same year, Alina joined the band, initially completing the lineup. The band made their live debut in November 2022 at M24 in Berlin.
In 2023, the band performed a series of concerts, including on May 6, 2023, at TWH with Ablativ, Rising Alma, and Cruor Hilla, on May 27, 2023, at Acranoa with Pointless and Wicked Waste, on August 12, 2023, in Neuruppin with Ablativ, ProfiLachse, Dienstleistungsgesellschaft, and Laid At Work, and on September 30, 2023, at Arcanoa with Cape Cantarra. In May 2023, the band released the song “Low Hokla.” In November 2023, Alina left the band, leading to a change in the lineup.
In February 2024, Tobi joined as the new second guitarist. Since then, he has been actively working on integrating himself into the band’s songs and finding his place in the lineup.
The Malicks place great emphasis on their energetic live performances and are known for their captivating stage presence. Their goal is to inspire the audience and create unforgettable moments. With their unique blend of punk energy and catchy melodies, they are ready to take on the big stages of the music world.
